Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism recovering fast

Khanh Hoa tourism is recovering quickly after the Government allowed to fully open tourism activities from March 15. Besides the domestic tourist market, the international tourist market is also very positive when airlines begin to reopen international routes to Cam Ranh International Airport.

Positive business results 
 
According to the Department of Tourism, the province has welcomed about 235,000 visitors in May, up 421% over the same period last year; in which the number of international arrivals is about 10,000, up 402.8%. The average occupancy rate is estimated at 27.4%. In the first 5 months of 2022, the whole province welcomed nearly 697,000 stay guests, an increase of 57.65% over the same period; in which there were more than 31,800 international visitors, an increase of 74.7%. 
 
Bà Nguyễn Thị Lệ Thanh - Giám đốc Sở Du lịch cho biết: “Với đà phục hồi như hiện nay, việc hoàn thành các chỉ tiêu du lịch năm 2022 rất khả quan. Chúng tôi đang kỳ vọng rất lớn vào mùa du lịch hè năm nay. Với lợi thế du lịch biển, sản phẩm du lịch đa dạng, chắc chắn Nha Trang - Khánh Hòa sẽ có một mùa du lịch hè bùng nổ”.
 
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said, "With the current recovery, tourism targets in 2022 may be fulfilled. We have great expectations for this summer. With the advantage of sea tourism and diverse tourism products, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa will surely have a booming summer tourism season.”
 
Representatives of many high-end resorts and hotels in the northern Cam Ranh Peninsula tourist area and in Nha Trang revealed that the number of guests booking summer resort rooms is very large. According to Vu Thi Huong Giang – accomodation manager of Alma Resort, 60% of the rooms in the resort in June has been booked. Similarly, Vo Thi Phuong Nga – Deputy Executive Manager of Champa Island Resort said that 80% of the resort's rooms in June has been booked. Currently, many partners are also negotiating to book rooms for guests in the coming months.
 
Many advantages to welcome international guests
 
Recently, Vietjet Air has re-operated the route Cam Ranh - Incheon (Korea) with a frequency of 3 flights/week. This is a favorable condition for Khanh Hoa tourism to welcome Korean tourists back after more than 2 years of interruption because of the Covid-19 epidemic. The first flight on May 20 carried 155 Korean tourists to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, including a number of tour company representatives to study the tourism recovery of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to prepare to bring Korean tourists back. Tran Minh Duc - Deputy Director of Long Phu Tourist Joint Stock Company, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Travel Association shared: "We have just welcomed representatives of Korean travel agencies to survey tourism products of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa after the Covid-19 epidemic. Korean partners highly appreciate the local tourism recovery. The two sides have agreed to bring tourists from Korea to Nha Trang from early July.
 
According to Le Thi Hong Minh - General Director of Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, many Vietnamese and international airlines have dicussed to reopen international routes to Cam Ranh. Vietnam Airlines will reopen the Singapore - Cam Ranh flying route with a frequency of 2 flights/week from June 3rd. This is a favorable condition to attract tourists from Southeast Asia.
 
Along with efforts to exploit traditional tourist markets such as Russia, Korea..., Khanh Hoa is strengthening connections to exploit the Indian tourist market. In early May, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Embassy of India in Vietnam to organize a conference "Tourism in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa and India - Safe, friendly and attractive destination". The conference focused on introducing strengths and programs to stimulate tourism in Khanh Hoa for Indian tourists; potentials of direct flights between India  and Cam Ranh; solutions to remove bottlenecks and attract Indian tourists to Khanh Hoa... Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma also assessed Khanh Hoa as one of the localities that India prioritizes for connection and tourism cooperation in the near future. Immediately after the conference, Indian travel agents had an online connection session to explore cooperation opportunities with tourism businesses in Khanh Hoa province. “The leader of Khanh Hoa Province People's Committee has also proposed to Vietnam's airlines to study and open a flying route from India to Khanh Hoa to connect trade and promote tourism development...", Nguyen Thi Le Thanh shared.
 
Khanh Hoa Province aims to welcome 1.2 million tourists in 2022 (up 100% compared to 2021), including 1.16 million domestic ones and 40,000 international ones; and reach 4,000 billion VND in tourism revenue.
