Restorating of intra-provincial tourism

The Vietnam Tourism Association has just sent an official dispatch to localities on the implementation of the program to restore domestic tourism. Accordingly, tourism businesses only select tourist destinations and service providers for groups of tourists who satisfy safety criteria; and build tourist routes and transport methods according to safe routes. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said that initially, Khanh Hoa tourism will restore tourism within the province with the program “Khanh Hoa people travel in Khanh Hoa”. The provincial Department of Tourism has proposed to the provincial People's Committee to organize a tour of gratitude to the frontline forces in fighting the Covid-19 epidemic to open the program.

Major tourism enterprises in the province such as Vinpearl Joint Stock Company, Hon Tam Nha Trang Sea Joint Stock Company, Long Phu Tourist Joint Stock Company, resorts in Bai Dai (Cam Lam), Doc Let (Ninh Hoa)… are actively preparing to resume operations. Travel businesses are also coordinating with tourist sites/spots to build “green” tours. Tran Minh Duc - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Travel Association, Deputy Director of Long Phu Tourist Joint Stock Company said that travel businesses are very pleased with the news that the province will soon allow tourism to resume operations. As long as the Provincial People's Committee issues a set of safety criteria, businesses will "activate" tourism activities in the province again.

Building safety criteria in tourism

On September 17, at the meeting with Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, Nguyen Hai Ninh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee directed tourism businesses to base on the set of safety criteria in tourism operation issued by the Provincial Steering Committee to deploy activities (if eligible). The provincial Department of Tourism and related departments and agencies will do post-inspection work.

Currently, the Department of Tourism has submitted to the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to issue a set of safety assessment criteria in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic for tourism activities. Accordingly, tourist accommodation businesses, travel businesses and tourist areas and attractions are only allowed to welcome guests when they satisfy the safety conditions for the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. 100% of tourism workers are required to have Covid-19 green card, always implement the 5K rule, be measured body temperature daily and be tested periodically as prescribed. Travelers aged 18 and over must have Covid-19 green card; travelers under 18 years old must have a certificate of SARS-CoV-2 negative test within 72 hours before and during travel. Accommodation establishments may only arrange people with the same family or with the same epidemiological factors in the same room. Vehicles transporting tourists must meet standards on epidemic prevention and control; drivers and attendants must have Covid-19 green card. The number of guests in each tour program must comply with the regulations of the Provincial Steering Committee on the number of people to be allowed to gather in public places; keep a safe distance in communication, working and visiting…

In addition, accommodation, travel businesses, tourist sites must establish and maintain a steering committee for Covid-19 prevention and control as well as a Covid-19 safety team; develop a plan to handle the situation when there is a suspected case of Covid-19 infection. In which, accommodation facilities and tourist sites have at least 1 isolation room and 1 waiting room in accordance with the regulations of the Health sector, equipped with some backup personal protective equipment (at least 3 sets) for employees to use in case of need. Isolation rooms in accommodation establishments must have minimum accommodation facilities and be equipped with some epidemic prevention and control equipment.

In addition, people who come to contact and provide services for tourism businesses must have Covid-19 green card. Workers at tourist facilities and tourists must use medical declaration and close contact detection applications (Bluezone, NCOVI, VHD…) to scan QR codes for medical declaration.
