In the first quarter of 2020, Khanh Hoa received around 644,000 tourist arrivals, down by 58.6% compared with the same period last year. The tourists included 415,360 foreigners, down by 52.6%; local ones: 229,500, down by 66.3%. The drop in foreign tourists was mostly from China, South Korea and Russia, according to Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
The hotel room capacity was only at 24.5%. Some hotels have been closed from early March due to travel slump as a result of the COVID-19. Damages in tourism revenue caused by the coronavirus crisis in Khanh Hoa are expected to be VND5,400 billion.
