A roadmap needed

Le Van Son - General Manager of Liberty Central Nha Trang Hotel, Head of the Hotel Branch of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association recognized that the idea contest "No plastic waste in tourist accommodations" hosted by the provincial Department of Tourism is very practical for tourism businesses." Through this event, accommodation facilities will have solutions to limit plastic waste. Hotel managers have a basis for proposing to the investor the replacement of disposable plastic products by environmentally friendly products.

However, some businesses said that in order to do this, it is necessary to have a roadmap and have safe and convenient alternative materials, especially to stoping the use of plastic bottled water products. Tourists, especially foreign tourists, are reluctant to use water bottles many times because they think they are not hygienic.

Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism also said that  the action of "no plastic waste" is a persistent process, needing the support of the whole society. Along with calling on businesses to respond to " no plastic waste", in the coming time, the industry will organize a series of campaigns to clean the environment, calling for no use of plastic bags, water plastic bottle... and attracting tourists to join to improve propaganda effectiveness. The local tourism expects all communities, organizations, individuals and tourists to respond to the movement to contribute to the development of sustainable tourism, keeping a green - clean - beautiful environment.
