About 300,000 train tickets for the coming lunar New Year festival
The railways has set the peak time for travel which is from January 23, 2019 to February 2, 2019.
Beside 22 couples of trains, Sai Gon Railways will also add some couples of trains on routes Ho Chi Minh City – Hue, Ho Chi MInh City – Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City – Quang Ngai and Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang, etc. The total number of seats during the lunar new year festival 2019 occasion is estimated to be 300,000, increasing by 7,000 year-on-year.
From 8 am, October 1, train ticket sale will be opened. Each customer can book and buy no more than 4 one-way tickets. According to Le Hong Son, deputy director of Nha Trang Railways, in previous years, tickets for long route were sold as a priority, but this year, the railways will sell train tickets for short routes sooner than previous years.

Flexible ticket fares
To suit the market and make up for the empty directions, Sai Gon Railways has adjusted fares for the coming lunar new year festival 2019 as follows: 10% increase in fares of some trains and 20% decrease in fares of some trains.
Besides, the company has some discounts; for example, discount for tickets bought long time in advance on trains with 800 kilometers and more in distance (not applied for four-berth cabins on trains of SE1/2 and SE3/4). Specifically, 20% discount is given to tickets bought 10 – 29 days in advance; 30% discount for 30 – 39 days in advance; and 50% discount for over 50 days in advance.
Beneficiaries of social welfare, the disabled and students can also enjoy discounts.
