According to Nguyen Cong Hai, manager of Nha Trang southern bus station said that the number of passengers is forecast to rise by 50% than usual and 20% year-on-year, especially on Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang route. Therefore, on this route, bus firms will add 10 more trips a day to 50 trips from 40. Up to this time, there are still a lot of unsold bus tickets. However, people who want to travel during the holiday time should book tickets soon. A lot of local people who travel by bus often buy tickets when the holiday comes nearer.

On the April 30, May 1 holiday this year, the Department of Transport and the Department of Finance of Khanh Hoa Province has fixed the reasonable rate of extra charge in order to keep fares stable one bus routes: Ho Chi Minh City – Cam Ranh, Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City – Ninh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City – Van Ninh. The maximum rate of extra charge is 40% of the fare from Ho Chi Minh City to Khanh Hoa from April 27 to April 28, and on the opposite direct from May 1 to 2. “Transport companies that sell bus tickets higher than declared prices will be fined. The fine is VND20 – 30 million to individuals and VND40 – 60 million to organizations”, said Deputy director of the provincial Department of Transport Nguyen Van Dan.

Meanwhile, some trains have sold out their tickets for this occasion. According to Le Hong Son, Deputy director of Nha Trang Railways Branch, to satisfy the high demand, there will be 27 additional trains on routes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang and Quy Nhon from April 26 to May 1.The trains add about 13,000 seats. The route Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang particularly has 17 more trains, including 5 on April 27, 3 on April 28, 4 on April 30 and 3 on May 1.
