Sea and bay

The sea in Khanh Hoa is the deepest in Vietnam, adjoining oceans as well as international sea lane.

Khanh Hoa Sea

The sea in Khanh Hoa is the deepest in Vietnam, adjoining oceans as well as international sea lane.

Its steep and rough seabed is covered with layers of coral reefs. Compared with other sea zones in Vietnam as well as in the South- East Asia, Khanh Hoa enjoys the most optimal climatic and geomorphologic conditions for conducting oceanographic researches,
The ragged coastline, 200km, makes up the most famous bays and swamps in Vietnam such as Cam Ranh and Van Phong.

Along the coast are arms, bays, tidal beaches and fine sandy banks, convenient for setting up sea ports, developing aquaculture and tourism. Khanh Hoa has 6 bays and damps: Dai Lanh, Van Phong, Hon Khoi, Nha Phu, Cu Huan (Nha Trang) and Cam Ranh, of which, the following ones are the most famous:

Cam Ranh Bay

Cam Ranh Bay,18-20m deep, is among the three marine ports enjoying the world’s best natural conditions. As surrounded by mountains, the bay is out of the wind.

Cam Ranh is just 1 hour from the sea lane by ship (18 hours from Hai Phong). The commercial port in Cam Ranh Bay, namely Da Bac Port, is located in Ba Ngoi Town, so it’s also called Ba Ngoi Port.

Van Phong Bay

This is a fantastic natural wonder in an ideal environment with a mild climate, fine white sandy beach surrounded by hills, mountains and almost completely deserted tropical forests, breathtaking colourful coral reefs, several vestiges of salt-watered forests and thousands of specific and valuable sea creatures. This is the superority for Van Phong to develop eco-tourism. Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has listed Van Phong in “The major tourism development region” in its long-term plan to the year 2001. Van phong is also listed one of the 4 the most ideal sea tours by the Sea World Association.

Up to now, the national power supply system has reached Khai Luong Cape. At the beginning of the year 2002, the major route Co Ma-Dam Mon with the total investment capital of VND61billion by Khanh Hoa Commerce and Tourism was officially started. Other projects that have been approved are Dam Mon Tourism Port, Doc Let Tourism Bridge. The projects of upgrading and asphalting a large street connecting Ninh Phung and Doc Let, of exploiting and treating water with a capacity of 5000m3/day,… continue to be carried out in order to step by step perfect the infrastructures of the major tourism region.
