- Can you give information about the preparation for this year’s V.League 1 and the opening match?

- Until now, the preparation for the new season has been quite good. After finishing the 2022 V.League 2 and being promoted to V.League 1, the coaching board started to review the team’s force and recruit new players. Khanh Hoa FC parted ways with some players, whose contract expired, and signed new players, including overseas Vietnamese player Ryan Ha (born in 1997, striker); foreign players Douglas Starnley Ferreira (born 1993, striker), Jairo Rodrigeus Peixoto Filho (born 1992, defender) and Yago Goncalves Nogueira Ramos (born 1996, striker). Before the start of the new season, the team joined Four-Team Tournament in Lam Dong Province and Thien Long Tournament in Binh Duong Province. Through these two tournaments, the new players were assessed as meeting requirements. However, the team’s coaching board need to see their performances in the upcoming matches to give more accurate assessments.

Khanh Hoa FC are likely to have a tough match against Dong A Thanh Hoa, who have a long tradition and placed eighth in V.Leage 1 last year. This season, they appointed Veliar Popov (Bulgarian) as their head coach; and recruited 5 domestic players and 2 Brazilian strikers namely Bruno Cantanhede and Paulo Conrado.
- Khanh Hoa FC almost don’t have any stars on the roster for this season. Is this the team’s own direction?

From the past until now, the play of Khanh Hoa FC hasn’t focused too much on star players. The coaching board focuses on recruiting players who meet the professional requirements and play with a good spirit of determination and full energy on the field. It cannot say that this is the team’s own direction because Khanh Hoa FC used to recruit quality players, such as Uche, when we played in V.League 1 and had good conditions. At present, it is not easy to recruit quality foreign players. With limited funds, we have to consider elements and select appropriate foreign players.
- The foreign players of Khanh Hoa FC are new and haven’t played in V.League 1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of using these players?

They are new to the surroundings and are getting used to new conditions. They need time; it can take about 5 to 6 rounds for some players to adapt. The coaching board has made contingency plans.
- Khanh Hoa FC have just returned to V.League 1. Is the team's goal this season to stay in the league?

Like other teams that have just returned to V.League 1 or have been promoted to the league for the first time, our goal is to stay in the league. As for Khanh Hoa FC, we try our best in every match and play with enthusiasm until the last whistle.
