The group stage matches of the provincial football championship 2022 are taking place at 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium. 14 teams were divided into four groups with seven teams of businesses in Groups A and B and seven teams of the districts, towns and cities in Group C and D. The teams compete in group stage and knockout stage, which includes quarter-finals and semi-finals. The two semi-finals winners will enter the final match.

In the previous tournaments, the teams of businesses with good financial investment gathered most of quality players. Meanwhile, the teams of localities with low funds faced many difficulties to recruit members. This created a huge gap in quality between businesses’ teams and localities’ teams, resulting in the disparity in performance and achievement between the two aforementioned groups of teams.
This year, in order to help the localities’ teams have enough time to prepare for the tournament, the organization board of the 2022 tournament had sent them the regulation and registration documents for the tournament ten days before dispatching the documents to the teams of businesses. Ngo Tran Vinh Anh, head coach of Nha Trang team highly appreciated the new method. It has helped increase the quality of the teams and tournament. Reportedly, Nha Trang team joins the 2022 tournament with the key players of Van Thang Commune, who won the recently held tournament of Nha Trang City.
The group stage take place until September 18 with two matches played every day at 2:30pm and 4pm. The two teams with the most excellent results will progress to the quarter-finals scheduled for September 19 and 20.
