Exciting matches at final round of National Football Tournament for Children 2022

The ongoing final round of the National Football Tournament for Children (U11) – Nestlé Milo 2022 played at Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Arena, Nha Trang City has seen many exciting matches. Four semi-finalists were decided, namely Song Lam Nghe An, T&T VSH, Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon and Hai An Tay Ninh.
 

The ongoing final round of the National Football Tournament for Children (U11) – Nestlé Milo 2022 played at Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Arena, Nha Trang City has seen many exciting matches. Four semi-finalists were decided, namely Song Lam Nghe An, T&T VSH, Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon and Hai An Tay Ninh.
 
The final round kicked off on July 23, joined by 16 U11 teams from many provinces and cities over the country such as Song Lam Nghe An, T&T, Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City. The teams were divided into four groups and played in a single round-robin format to decide eight first- and second-placed teams of the group stage for the semi-finals.

The players of the host Khanh Hoa are from the provincial Sports Technique Training Center. Khanh Hoa are in Group A with Song Lam Nghe An, Gia Bao Hai Duong and Ngoc Hung Ho Chi Minh City. With only three points (two losses, one win), Khanh Hoa were eliminated in the group stage. After the quarter-finals matches played on July 27, Song Lam Nghe An, T&T VSH, Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon, and Hai An Tay Ninh qualified for the semi-finals. These four teams displayed impressive performances to get through the semi-finals.
 
In the quarter-finals, except for the match between Song Lam Nghe An and Thang Long FC with a big gap between the two sides, the remaining matches between T&T VSH and Gia Bao Hai Duong, Viet Hung Thanh Hoa and Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon, Dak Lak and Hai An Tay Ninh, took place excitingly to the last minutes. Specifically, Viet Hung Thanh Hoa and Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon displayed a thrilling match. Viet Hung Thanh Hoa started the match better; were in more control, but they couldn’t find the goals and even conceded two goals in the first half. After the break, Viet Hung Thanh Hoa began to exert pressure on Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon and scored three goals in only 15 minutes. Dramatically, in the last four minutes, Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon had two consecutive goals to lead 4-3. The dramatic match continued when Viet Hung Thanh Hoa scored a goal in the injury time, making it 4-4 and bringing the match to the penalty shootout. Finally, Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon beat Viet Hung Thanh Hoa 5-4 on the penalty shootout to enter the semi-finals. 
 
The remaining two quarterfinals were also roller coasters, in which T&T VSH overcame rival Gia Bao Hai Duong with a score of 4-3; Hai An Tay Ninh defeated Dak Lak 6-4.
 
In the semi-finals scheduled for July 29 afternoon, Song Lam Nghe An meet Navy Phu Nhuan Saigon at 3pm; T&T VSH play Hai An Tay Ninh at 4pm. The final match is played on July 30 afternoon. The awarding and closing ceremonies will take place after the final match.
