It has been a long time since the provincial Sports Technique Training Center saw an enthusiasm atmosphere of practice of the coaches and athletes. Previously, the provincial teams often gathered on lunar February 6. This year, they began to practice two days earlier. The long-distance track and field team has practiced since lunar February 4. The provincial track and field athletes are actively practicing for the national cross-country tournament scheduled for early March. One of the motivations for the athletes to practice with enthusiasm is the improved monetary policy stipulated by Resolution 21 of the provincial People’s Council.
Besides the improved monetary policy, this year, the provincial Sports Technique Training Center also received attention from the province’s leadership. On the occasion of the 2022 Tet, Dinh Van Thieu, Deputy Director of the provincial People’s Committee, paid a visit to the center. At the meeting with Thieu, the center brought up some difficulties such as lack of transport vehicles and accommodation for the athletes as well as lack of practice equipment. Thieu acknowledged the difficulties and directed the provincial Department of Culture and Sports to advise the committee about these matters.
As reportedly, the sports teams of the provincial Sports Technique Training Center are focusing on preparing for the 9th National Sports Festival. The target of medals for this year’s festival is higher than the 8th festival. Specifically, the team will strive to achieve 7-10 gold medals, more silver medals and bronze medals. Khanh Hoa’s provincial sports delegation aims to place in the top 20 teams.
Many sports teams of Khanh Hoa such as track and field team, indoor volleyball team, and beach volleyball team are expected to gain achievements in the upcoming tournaments. In track and field, Tran Nhat Hoang is expected to successfully defend SEA Games gold medal as well as to win gold in his strong event, men’s 400m. The provincial indoor volleyball and beach volleyball teams have kept their key players and recruited new ones to defend gold medals in the 9th festival.
