The total investment for the renovation of the stadium is over VND7 billion. The renovation works include repairing and embellishing the wall inside the stadium, rest rooms, function rooms, sound equipment, seating system and running track. The renovation is expected to complete in March and will be put into use before the new season.

19-8 Nha Trang Stadium was inaugurated and put into use more than 30 years ago. It was considered one of the spacious and beautiful football fields of the central-highland region and the country at that time. Over years, many of the works and equipment of the stadium have been in decrepit and damaged state and haven’t met the professional requirements. Khanh Hoa has often invested to repair the stadium. However, there are many works which need to be renovated while the allocated fund has been limited. Therefore, the fact that the provincial Department of Culture and Sports has called for public contributions and collected over VND7 billion for the renovation of 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium is good news for the province’s sector.
Nguyen Tuan Thanh, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, hopes that after being renovated, the stadium will attract more people to come and cheer for the provincial football team. The renovation is also expected to help to promote the movement of other sports, especially track and field, in the province.
Reportedly, VND5 billion out of the renovation fund is used to invest in running track. Khanh Hoa’s has been strong in track and field and multisport competitions. 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium used to be the arena of many track and field races of the national junior tournaments, provincial Sports Festival, provincial Phu Dong Festival, etc. However, the stadium’s running track has been gradually decrepit. The last track and field competition which the stadium hosted was the 2007 National Junior Tournament. After the stadium is renovated, the province’s sector plans to host some national junior track and field tournaments.
Hopefully, the contributions and investment from the authorities, localities and sponsors as well as the recently improved monetary policy for coaches and athletes will create driving force for Khanh Hoa’s sports to develop sustainably.
