Vietnam’s disabled sports delegation has headed for Japan to participate in Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games with determined competitive spirit and without stress on achievements.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized an online meeting with the national disabled sports delegation to encourage and motivate the athletes before they travel to Tokyo (Japan) to attend Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. At the meeting, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung passed wishes of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on to all members of the delegation. Hung expressed that he acknowledged the difficulties of the disable athletes in travelling a long distance amid the pandemic of COVID-19. He hoped that the athletes would try their best to fulfill the target. Each athlete is like an envoy who not only spreads the beautiful images of Vietnam and Vietnamese people to the Paralympics but also can overcome difficulties to win achievements and bring glory to the country.

On this occasion, Minister Nguyen Van Hung offered each athlete VND15 million as an encouragement for them to overcome difficulties. In addition, the athletes were also given valuable gifts of health insurance for themselves and their family.
