The organization board of the 2020 HDBank National Futsal Championship recently announced the delay for another week of the final round from September 22 to October 1. This delay has affected the preparation of the participating teams.

Sanvinest*Sanna Khanh Hoa (SV*S-KH) have still practiced to prepare for the return leg of the final round of the 2020 HDBank National Futsal Championship. However, since COVID-19 broke out again in Vietnam, SV*S-KH have experienced more difficulties than the teams in the southern region. All crowded events and activities across Khanh Hoa have been postponed or cancelled. Meanwhile, SV*S-KH were arranged to practice at the multifunctional sports arena of Nha Trang National College of Pedagogy; therefore, the team’s practice and activities have depended on the regulations and schedules of the college. There are no training plan and teams to play with in this period of time. It is hard for SV*S-KH to take initiative in preparing for the remaining matches of the tournament. If the tournament does not resume soon, it will affect the form and competition spirit of the players, according to Dang Dinh Khang, head coach of SV*S-KH.

In the first leg of this year’s HDBank National Futsal Championship final round held in Nha Trang, SV*S-KH had a very good start compared to their results in the previous seasons. At the end of the first leg, SV*S-KH got 16 points after nine matches and placed 4th on the table. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic has made negative impacts on the team’s preparation for the return leg. SV*S-KH now have to face more difficulties in order to meet their target of entering the top 6 to avoid struggling for qualifying spot as they did in the previous seasons.

Meanwhile, the other futsal representative of Khanh Hoa Province at the 2020 HDBank National Futsal Championship, Sanvinest*Sanatech Khanh Hoa (SV*ST-KH), have also faced many difficulties this season. For example, Thai coach Praset Innui cannot return to Vietnam to lead SV*ST-KH due to COVID-19 prevention and control regulations. This is really a big disadvantage for the team. However, SV*ST-KH has operated in Ho Chi Minh City where there are many strong domestic futsal teams. They have often maintained physical training and played friendly matches with other teams. This is an advantage compared to their fellow countrymen SV*S-KH. However, Tran Duy Hieu, head of SV*ST-KH, wishes that the tournament will take place on schedule. The extended delay will affect not only the spirit of the players but also the financial situation of the team and the sponsor.

In the first leg, SV*ST-KH had a positive result with 15 points after nine matches and is temporarily in 5th place. SV*ST-KH have often performed very well in the second leg. Their target at the final round of the 2020 HDBank National Futsal Championship is the top three strongest teams.
