Vietnam has five clubs named in the list of the licensed clubs for 2019 AFC Champions League by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The fact that Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (Sanna KH-BVN) is among the five clubs is not only an honor but also a great driving force for the team before a new season.

Apart from other regions in Asian, the list of the licensed clubs for 2019 AFC Champions League includes 51 teams of seven countries in Southeast Asia, which are Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Hanoi, Binh Duong, SHB Da Nang, Than Quang Ninh, and Sanna KH-BVN are the five licensed clubs out of 14 clubs of Vietnam which applied for the license.

The teams had to fulfill the AFC’s criteria in many categories such as sporting, infrastructure, personnel and administrative, legal and financial. Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, said in a statement that Sanna KH-BVN was not a rich club compared to many other clubs in Vietnam, but the team had been highly appreciated in youth training and infrastructure.

Sanna KH-BVN mostly consists of the players promoted from Khanh Hoa’s U-21 players. These young players have gained experience and gradually improved their competence. The team finished the 2018 season at the third position. Khanh Hoa now has six youth teams from U-11 to U-21. One or two young players from the youth teams are promoted to the province’s professional team every year. The 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium qualifies for V-league matches. Besides, Sanna KH-BVN has two other training pitches at the provincial Sports Technique Training Center and Vinh Hoa Ward. The club is also equipped with quality training facilities and rehabilitation equipment. After last year season, the organization committee of 19-8 Nha Trang Stadium was honored as one of the best organization committees of V-League.

Sanna KH-BVN is known for their high sense of determination and fair play. The strength of a collective spirit with the players who always obeyed the instructions and tactic of the coaches helped Sanna KH-BVN to become a tough obstacle for many strong teams in V-League. From an underdog when rejoining V-League four years ago, Sanna KH-BVN was one of the top three teams of V-League 2018.
Vo Dinh Tam, Head Coach of Sanna KH-BVN, said that it was a great honor that the team was recognized by AFC. This achievement was thanks to the attention and investment of the province’s authorities, organizations and especially Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company.

Reportedly, prior to the new season, Sanna KH-BVN renewed the contracts with some key players of the 2018 season and signed five new ones - among them is one foreign player.
