First V-League medal of Sanna Khanh Hoa- Bien Vietnam

Sanna Khanh Hoa – Bien Vietnam (Sanna KH-BVN) could not create a dramatic win against FLC Thanh Hoa in the final round of V-League 2018 and finished this year’s season at third place. This result was an impressive success of the squad of Khanh Hoa at the most competitive football tournament in Vietnam.

In the clash with FLC Thanh Hoa, Sanna KH-BVN played with the absence of two key players. Goalkeeper Nguyen Tuan Manh missed the important match because he had been shown three yellow cards in the previous matches. The most dynamic midfielder of Sanna KH-BVN Nguyen Hoang Quoc Chi was suffering injury, causing him not being able to play the match deciding the historic medal of Sanna KH-BVN. Whereas, FLC Thanh Hoa sent their strongest line-up with two foreign players Omar and Rimario Gordon and quality domestic players such as Bui Tien Dung, Trong Hoang, Pham Van Nam, and Hoang Dinh Tung.

Sanna KH-BVN only needed a draw against FLC Thanh Hoa to obtain the silver medal. With the absence of two important players, Sanna KH-BVN was thought to play defensively before a strong opponent like FLC Thanh Hoa, waiting for opportunities to launch attacks. However, the players of Coach Vo Dinh Tan played an equal match with their opponent. Sanna KH-BVN had some good opportunities right at the first minutes of the first half, but Duy Thanh could not finish them. Meanwhile, Rimario took advantage of his opportunity to seal a 1-0 victory for FLC Thanh Hoa.

Khanh Hoa’s football used to disappear in Vietnam’s professional tournament. Under the instruction of Coach Vo Dinh Tan and sponsorship of Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company, the football squad of Khanh Hoa restarted its journey at V-League in 2015 with many difficulties. Being a new name and an underdog at Vietnam’s most intense tournament, Sanna KH-BVN with limited funds focused on building up a solid team which always plays with a high sense of determination and fair play.

Coach Vo Dinh Tan and Sanna KH-BVN has always tried to stick with their philosophy and created their own characteristics among V-League teams. A team of no stars throughout four seasons of V-League has always placed in the middle of the final standing, becoming a tough obstacle for many strong teams on the race to the champion. Especially, at the 2018 edition of V-League, the representative of Khanh Hoa’s football proved that the strength of a collective spirit and endless efforts could lead to a sweet offspring.
