Khanh Hoa’s volleyball team, Sanest Khanh Hoa, sets a target of winning gold medal at the Eighth National Sports Festival which is slated to take place in Hanoi at the end of November. The team is actively preparing in order to achieve the target.
Sanest Khanh Hoa planed to take part in three friendly tournaments prior to the Eighth National Sports Festival, which are military open tournament, Sanatech Ben Tre Cup, and Dam Ca Mau Cup. These tournaments will be joined by many quality teams like Border, Military, The Cong, Army Corps 4, and Trang An Ninh Binh, etc.
As reported by Coach Thai Quang Lai of Sanest Khanh Hoa, the team will play the friendly tournaments with mostly young players to help them gain experience and improve their skills. At the military open tournament held in Hanoi from September 12 to 20, Sanest Khanh Hoa’s key athletes (Tu Thanh Thuan, Huynh Trung Truc) were benched in favor of young ones who were promoted from the young team two or three years ago. The team had quite impressive performances and finished in top four.

Sanest Khanh Hoa is said to be a viable contender for this year’s national sports tournament championship. Since 2014 to 2017, Sanest Khanh Hoa always placed in top four excellent teams at the national sports tournaments; finished second at the 2015 and 2016 tournaments; won the 2017 season’s championship. Sanest Khanh Hoa did not play well at round 1 of this year’s national volleyball tournament but performed impressively at the 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in Myanmar where they sat fourth at the end of the competition. Dinh Nhu of Sanest Khanh Hoa was voted as the best middle blocker of this championship.
Besides senior players like the two national athletes Tu Thanh Thuan and Huynh Trung Truc, the young players of Sanest Khanh Hoa are making progress. Coach Thai Quang Lai started to coach Sanest Khanh Hoa since the 2018 season, replacing Coach Trieu Tu Thien. The team was also joined by new players. With new lineup, Sanest Khanh Hoa has diversified their play style with more players joining the attack in stead of depending on the form of outside hitters, which was easily known by their opponents, as they did in the past.
The volleyball supporters in Khanh Hoa are expecting that their team will bring home a gold medal from the upcoming National Sports Festival.
