Khanh Hoa’s sports is actively preparing for the competitions at the Eighth National Sports Festival which is slated to take place in Hanoi and Hoa Binh Province from November 25 to December 12. Khanh Hoa’s delegation sports targets to achieve 23 medal sets and finish in top 20.

The National Sports Festival 2018 includes 36 sports. Khanh Hoa’s delegation sports plans to send 16 teams to this year’s festival. 126 athletes of Khanh Hoa will compete in 81 events of 16 sports, striving to gain ten gold medal sets, six silver medal sets, and seven bronze medal sets.

Among 16 teams of Khanh Hoa, eight teams are sure to meet and even exceed the target. For example, the target of the beach volleyball team, which is one gold medal, can be assured because the team members, Nguyen Trong Quoc and Nguyen Thanh Vinh have seemed to have no opponents in men’s event. Meanwhile, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram and Nguyen Thi Mai have also been among the strongest pairs in women’s event. Khanh Hoa’s dance sport team will play in nine events and target to obtain one gold medal as they did at the Seventh National Sports Festival. In order to fulfill the target, the team’s key members were sent to Thailand for training.

Indoor volleyball is among the sports which are expected to exceed the target at this year’s festival. Sanest Khanh Hoa did not play well and could not get a good result at the 2018 national volleyball championship. However, when they were chosen to represent Vietnam’s volleyball at the 2018 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship in Myanmar, the representative of Khanh Hoa’s volleyball had impressive competitions and placed among the final four strongest teams. Therefore, Sanest Khanh Hoa with players of equal quality is expected to gain a better result than one bronze medal as assigned.

Reportedly, the leaders of Khanh Hoa in the recent meeting with the provincial Department of Culture and Sports approved most of the proposals for the activities of the province’s sports section and sports teams. During the preparation period for the Eighth National Sports Festival, an additional fund will be provided to improve the nutrition of the athletes.
