Khanh Hoa’s traditional martial arts has been maintaining a stable development with quality young players. In recent years, the young traditional martial arts team of Khanh Hoa has often gained high achievements at the national level competitions.

About five years ago, there were only a small number of traditional martial arts dojos in Khanh Hoa, such as Hac Long, Minh Long and Tay Son. Nowadays, Khanh Hoa’s Traditional Martial Arts Association includes 102 members. The whole province now has more than 1,500 practitioners of 15 sects often practicing at 41 spots and clubs across the province.

As said by Tran Quang Thuong, Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Sports Technique Training Center, since starting being trained at the center in 2010, the traditional martial arts teams of Khanh Hoa have always accomplished the objectives assigned.

In 2014, the traditional martial arts of Khanh Hoa finished the National Physical Exercise and Sports Festival successfully with one gold medal, one silver medal and four bronze medals, ranking eighth out of 35 participating teams. In 2016, Khanh Hoa traditional martial arts team took part in three national tournaments, including tournament for young players, tournament for clubs and national championship; gained six gold medals, fifteen silver medals and eight bronze medals.

Lately, Khanh Hoa’s traditional martial arts team got good results and placed fifth out of 31 teams at the National Traditional Martial Arts Tournament for young players held in Dak Nong in June 12-18. Khanh Hoa team joins all event of the tournament with 15 athletes aged from 6 to 17. Reportedly, 13 out of 15 athletes of Khanh Hoa team were amateurs who had been not trained at the provincial Sports Technique Training Center. However, thanks to the good preparation, most of the athletes of Khanh Hoa performed more confidently and achieved good results at this year’s tournament. This also partly reflected the current stable development of traditional martial arts movement in Khanh Hoa.
