Beach football movement in Khanh Hoa reflected through provincial beach football tournament 2017

As a part of Khanh Hoa’s 8th Physical Exercise and Sports Festival and Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2017, the provincial beach football tournament was joined by quite many participants. The professional quality of the tournament was also highly evaluated. This reflected the stable development of beach football movement of Khanh Hoa, a locality having strongest beach football movement in Vietnam.

 

 
There were sixteen male pairs and eight female pairs from Khanh Hoa Provincial Police, Youth Union and eight localities in the province taking part in the tournament. In men’s event, the teams were split into four groups and competed to decide the quarter-finalist, semi-finalists and finalists. Meanwhile, the female teams played in a round robin format where the rankings depending on points.
 
The final competitions of both men’s and women’s events took place at the beach volleyball ground (south of Tran Phu Bridge, Nha Trang) on June 13. Nha Trang male team could not managed to enter the final match although the beach city has been said to have strongest beach volleyball movement in Khanh Hoa. The pairs from Ninh Hoa (Nguyen Huu Thinh – Nguyen Trung Nguyen) and Dien Khanh (Mai Thanh Huy – Le Anh Dai) qualified for the last game of the 2017 tournament. 

 

 
Although they were all amateur players and had to play in hot and muggy weather, the male finalists showed great efforts and played a nail-biting and attractive match. Finally, Dien Khanh won by a nose in the third set. In women’s event, Nha Trang teams scooped first and second prizes; Khanh Son placed third.
 
Speaking after tournament, Nguyen Cao Dong, Coach of Sanna Khanh Hoa beach volleyball team highly appreciated the skills of the participants in particular and professional quality of tournament in general. Some athletes played professionally. All these things proved the recent progress of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball.
