Vietnamese athletes will compete in 31 events and are expected to win gold medals in 16 events. Reportedly, Vietnam’s sports delegation sets target to secure about 49 to 62 golds and place third on the final rankings.
Some of the sports which Vietnam’s athletes did not register include long-distance swimming, water polo, cricket, equestrian, hockey, ice hockey, figure skating, lawn bowls, netball, rugby, squash, triathlon, and water ski.
