Attending this year’s world championship were 400 athletes from 45 countries and territories around the world. Vietnam had six bodybuilders competing at this event, including Pham Van Mach, Nguyen Van Lam, Nguyen Anh Thong, Nguyen Thi My Linh, Duong Hong Ngoc and Tran Thi Cam Tu.
This was the fourth time Mach has been crowned world champion (2001, 2009, 2010, 2014).
Additional to the two golden medals, Vietnam delegation earned one silver thanks to Nguyen Anh Thong, who failed to defend his champion in men’s 60kg. Nguyen Thi My Linh (women’s 65kg) and Tran Thi Cam Tu (women’s fitness) won two bronze medals.
