China, who emerged as the Champions of the inaugural FIBA Asia U16 Championship in Johor Bahru, Malaysia two years ago, defended their title after defeating South Korea with the score 92 – 52 at the final match. Japan won the bronze medal after overcoming Philippines in the third-place playoff.

Vietnam only ranked the 12th. In fact, the event marked the first time a team from Vietnam participated in any men’s FIBA Asia event. However, it was a precious opportunity for the country’s junior basketball players to gain experience and improve their skills.

In addition, the event has helped the hosting city Nha Trang to prove its ability to organize international events. The image of a beautiful coastal tourist city also has been introduced more to international friends though this event.
