The contractor is making efforts to mobilize human and equipment resources to accelerate the road project progress from the National Highway 1 to Dam Mon (Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province). The work is expected to be completed and put into operation on December 31.

The road project from the National Highway 1 to Dam Mon began in 2016. Due to difficulty in State funding, Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board has proposed and received approval from the Provincial People's Committee to reduce the size of the road from 6 lanes, 24m wide, to 4 lanes, 17m wide, with a median strip, 10m wide.

According to Vuong Xuan Phuong, Deputy Chief of Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board, VND426/460 billion disbursement, making up 91%, has been made to road and its drainage work. The entire road surface has been completed and its auxiliaries are due to be finished by November 2022. The lighting system is 99% complete.


Expected to be operational by the end of this year


Reportedly, approved by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board has promptly made construction drawings, design records and building estimation approved on December 31, 2021. In the first quarter of 2022, the management board held construction bidding to select contractors and started the construction on April 21. The contract package is due to be complete within 8 months.

According to Vuong Xuan Phuong, for 5 months since the construction inauguration, the contractor has mobilized labor and equipment to meet the project progress. VND69/115 billion worth of the contract package has been disbursed. The construction contractor is accelerating crushed stone application and asphalt road patching. The work is scheduled to be completed, accepted and put into use in December 2022.


Recently, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Peoples Committee has inspected the implementation of the road project from National Highway 1 to Dam Mon and asked the management board to ensure the contract progress and traffic safety during the construction; and boost monitoring and supervision to maintain the work quality and meet schedules.

 


The road project from National Highway 1 to Dam Mon was approved in 2015. The route is 14.3km long and 34m wide with a 24m wide road surface, 6 lanes (3 lanes on each side) and a 3m wide median. The total approved investment capital is nearly VND998.2 billion and the implementation period is 2016 - 2022.


Since 2016, the disbursement for the project has reached 100% of the annual capital plan. Accumulated allocated capital has been VND790.9 billion. In 2022, the project has disbursed more than VND94.8/225.6 billion, accounting for 42% of the capital plan. The project is expected to disburse about 58% of the assigned capital plan by September 30 and 100% of the assigned capital plan by December.
