A child named Tran Van Thao in Ninh Hoa Town said, “This is the first time I have joined this forum. The theme this year is about child abuse control and prevention. I hope I would share my ideas about child protection because children are the future of the world and every child has the right to live in the everyone’s care and love”.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has promptly issued documents on child care and protection tasks, ensuring law enforcement response to cases of child abuse and violence; prompt intervention and help for kids as child abuse or violence victims; and regular public awareness campaigns. Everyone is urged to report any cases of child abuse or violence. Children are advised to speak up or share their problems with their families, relatives or call emergency telephone number 111 for help and protection from the authorities.  This is one of the skills for kids to protect themselves, according to Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

Apart from group discussion and direct dialogues between children and leaders, the forum also included a quiz contest about Children's Law and issues related to children; self-protection guidance; and an exchange program filled with fun and excitement for kids to meet and make friends.

According to Nguyen Thanh Son, the forum provided opportunities for children to share their feelings and opinions so that leaders can understand their thoughts and needs to help protect children and solve their problems. In the coming time, to promote the quality of the forum, local agencies and authorities are required to create the most favorable conditions and assure funding for the forum. The People’s Committees at all levels are asked to direct local departments and agencies to continue considering children’s suggestions to ensure their rights are fully supported and protected.
