Blood donation has contributed to ensuring sufficient blood demand for life-saving emergencies and treatment in Khanh Hoa. To honor voluntary blood donors’ kind generosity and contribution, Khanh Hoa Province is going to organize a recognition ceremony in mid June to honor those having donated blood many times.
 
According to Luu Thi Bich Huong, Khanh Hoa Red Cross Vice-Chairperson, Chief of the Standing Office of the Steering Board for Blood Donation, 3 families will receive certificates of the Prime Minister at the coming 2022 recognition ceremony for blood donors. The National Steering Board for Blood Donation  will present bronze plaques to 2 individuals, badges for 40 voluntary donations times to 3 families and 2 individuals. The Ministry of Health will award certificates of merit to 3 families. 
 
In addition, Vietnam Red Cross will award certificates of merit to 6 families, 11 individuals and a commemorative medal to 1 individual. Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee will award certificates of merit to 39 families and 55 individuals. The Provincial Steering Board for Blood Donation will award certificates of merit to 25 families and 178 individuals.
 
Many people in Khanh Hoa have donated blood many times to help save life. Acknowledgements which mark important credit milestones have been given to honor the frequent and valued donors.
 
Under the blood donation regulations of the National Steering Board for Blood Donation and provincial People’s Committee, individuals and families having donated blood for 70 times or over will receive certificates of merit by the Prime Minister; 30 times or over: a certificate of merit by Vietnam Red Cross; 40 times or over: a commemorative medal by Vietnam Red Cross; 20, 30, 40, 50, 70 times: a badge by the National Steering Board for Blood Donation; 50 times: a bronze plaque; 70 times: a silver plaque; 100 times: a golden plaque. Those with 10 voluntary donations or more will be awarded certificates of merit by the Provincial People’s Committee and 10 times or more: certificates of merit by the provincial Steering Board for Blood Donation.
 
Blood donation is a noble gesture. The blood donation campaign has expanded widely in the community, proactively responded by local agencies, schools and businesses in Khanh Hoa. The blood donation rate among residents has reached 1.53% with repeaters accounting for 63%. 100% of donated blood has been used for life-saving emergency care and treatment.
