IT application in issuance of Covid-19 green certificates

Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee met virtually with Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications for information technology (IT) application in Covid-19 prevention and control on September 18. Also present at the event was Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee together with some relevant departments and agencies.

 

Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh said the Covid-19 outbreak has been basically under control in Khanh Hoa. 74% of the population have been given the first doses and nearly 10% fully vaccinated. The provincial leader also expressed the hope that the Ministry of Information and Communications would support the province to pilot the IT application in the issuance of the digital green and yellow certificates to facilitate travel control and turn life soon back to the new normal. 

 

 

 

The digital Covid-19 certificate will be issued to a person who has either been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 with the second dose administered at least 14 days before, received a negative PCR test result or  recovered from Covid-19.

 

The Department of Information and Communications had worked with the National Technology Center for Covid-19 Prevention and Control on IT application in the issuance of the green and yellow certificates, said Pham Duy Loc, Director of the Department of Information and Communications.

 

According to the National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Bluezone app has now integrated data from the Immunization and Testing platforms which serve the  research and addition of features to build the app for green and yellow certificates in Khanh Hoa Province.

 

At the meeting, the representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications introduced the Safety QR code already applied in some localities, namely District 7, Cu Chi District and Can Gio District in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

 

 

 

The Ministry of Information and Communications is building an app for the issuance of Covid-19 green certificates. Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung agreed to send its IT experts to help build the app for the issuance of Covid-19 green certificates and deploy the app in reality in Khanh Hoa the following week.

 

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to develop a plan on IT application in the issuance of green and yellow certificates; establish a working group to coordinate with the IT team of the Ministry of Information and Communications; set criteria for green and yellow certificates, etc.; and the Department of Health to speed up the update of immunization data; Covid-19 recoveries; deploy the testing platform to all PCR testing units to provide sufficient data for the issuance of digital green and yellow certificates.
