The Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene 2021 (May) took place amid the Covid-19 epidemic. Production and business establishments organized activities and implemented measures to protect laborers from coronavirus.

 
Since early 2021, Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has provided consultancy and submitted a plan on labor safety and hygiene to Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to guide local departments, agencies and authorities to implement labor safety measures. This year’s Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene is themed enhancing inspection of occupational hazards with the participation of labor safety and hygiene staff.
 
The Department has directed enterprises to implement suitable measures based on their actual situations; promote public awareness of labor safety to help prevent and reduce risks of occupational accidents and diseases; and implement the action Month for Covid-19 prevention and control and workplace safety.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs jointly with the Provincial Labor Confederation has launched the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene the Workers’ Month 2021 at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone. Representatives of production and business establishments joined the launching event with practical activities and commitments. Many enterprises have upgraded their workshops, applied scientific advance in production and business; and reduced risks of occupational accidents and diseases. They include Khanh Viet Corporation, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company and French Female Apparel Development Company, which has invested in more than 40 finished product textile machines to reduce labor and improve workplace safety.
 
Implementing the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene and Workers’ Month 2021, local departments, agencies and authorities held hundreds of training courses on labor safety and hygiene; propagandized policies on labor insurance and occupational diseases among employers and employees; directed production and business establishments to take measures against Covid-19 in workplaces and dormitories for laborers; commended and rewarded those with initiatives and solutions to improve labor capacity and ensure workplace safety; conducted labor safety inspection in workplaces at high risk of occupational accidents and diseases; and presented condolences to those suffering occupational accidents in 2020.
 
Production and business establishments have chosen suitable ways to urge laborers to respond to the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene; checked technical methods, regulations and procedures to assure workplace safety; opened labor safety training courses for workers; organized maneuvers to deal with technical incidents to assure labor safety and hygiene; given first aid training, provided periodic health check-ups for employees, etc.
 
Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions on propaganda and training along with guidance, dialogues and inspection, employers and employees' awareness of compliance with the law on occupational safety has increased. 
 
The Department has promoted propaganda in various forms on the mass media, posters and banners on main roads and in industrial parks and residential areas. The labor safety training has been further promoted. Activities to improve the capacity and effectiveness of State management of occupational safety and hygiene have been also organized together with providing consultancy, building an labor safety and hygiene management system for 41 enterprises; issuing guidance documents to businesses, production and business establishments and ensuring Covid-19 prevention and control, according to Van Dinh Tri, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
