After 7 years’ implementation of the Resolution No. 29 dated 2013 on fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training, Khanh Hoa Province has gained satisfactory achievements in education in terms of quality and efficiency.

Khanh Hoa is one of the provinces with a diversified network of schools from nursery to secondary education and vocational training covering all areas, meeting learning needs with much improvement in teaching conditions and facilities reaching required standards. Particularly, the province is one of the country’s leading localities in the implementation of guidelines and policies for the development of mountainous and ethnic minority areas. The scheme on consolidation and development of provincial boarding schools for ethnic minorities in the period 2016 - 2020 has contributed to enhancing the appearance to schools, new and spacious, and reducing school drop-outs among mountainous students.

Khanh Hoa has continued promoting achievements gained as one of the provinces completing the universalisation of nursery education for 5-year-olds; primary and junior high school education; and illiteracy eradication ahead of schedule with 99% of 5-year-olds mobilized to get to school every year. The number of students winning prizes in the National Excellent Student Contest has increased in recent years in terms of quality and quantity. The high school graduation rate has reached 93%-98%. Khanh Hoa has remained among provinces with top admissions to universities, etc.
 
The development of teaching and managing staff has been considered among key tasks to meet the demand for education and training innovation. Teachers have basically met required standards. Teaching and managing staff’s quality has improved and standardized. Especially, professional development training has been provided for the teaching and managing staff to apply new textbooks for the first grade from the school year 2020 - 2021.
 
One of the highlights of the province's innovation in education management is the promotion of schools’ autonomy based on which schools have proactively built and adjusted teaching plans and innovated teaching methods towards the development of students' abilities together with promotion of ideological and ethical education and life skills. Several solutions have also been taken to teach foreign languages systematically from the primary level; deploy the application of advanced information technology in management, administration and teaching method innovation towards the international integration.
 
Continued on the move 
 
Besides achievements, the innovation in education and training in Khanh Hoa has met some challenges related teaching staff’ ability, facilities, education quality in mountainous areas; investment resources, etc. In the period 2020 - 2025, the province's education sector has strived to continue making fundamental improvements in education and training. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the management of local authorities at all levels, improve the effectiveness of coordination among departments, agencies and management levels in the implementing Resolution No. 29; implement synchronously solutions to improve the quality of management staff and teachers at all levels; effectively implement new curricula, apply new textbooks and career-oriented education scheme in general education in the period of 2018 – 2025; continue innovating contents, teaching and learning methods; testing and evaluation; improve the teaching of foreign languages, especially English, according to Vo Hoan Hai, Director of the Department of Education & Training.
 
Khanh Hoa education sector has also cooperated with local agencies and departments to provide consultancy for Khanh Hoa People’s Committee to build, repair schools and invest in teaching facilities, especially in remote areas, to well adapt to the use of new textbooks and towards meeting the target of 66% of national standard schools by 2025; boosting community participation in education and facilitating individuals, businesses and the whole community to get engaged in the education contribution.
 
There are presently 537 schools and 5 regular education centers with more than 21,900 managing officials, teachers and other staff and over 286,000 students in Khanh Hoa. Nearly VND640 billion has been determined for the investment in school repair and construction and teaching facilities in the 2020 – 2021 academic year.
