Promoting care and protecting legal rights and benefits of employees

Cam Ranh City Trade Union has focused on improving activities toward improving care and protecting  rights and benefits of  employees, thus providing solid support for Trade Union members to lean on over years.

 

For the sake of employees 

 

Cam Ranh City Trade Union has nearly 150 affiliations with more than 5,600 members. The Trade Union has been committed to creating favorable conditions for its affiliations to maintain and improve employment conditions, taken workers’ ideas and aspirations into consideration to fulfill the functions of protecting their legal rights and benefits; proactively cooperated with other units and enterprises to organize labor workshops and dialogues at workplaces, contributing to promoting harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations. Thousands of labor’s requests and suggestions have been solved. The Trade Union maintains inspection and supervision of the implementation of policies related to workers’ legal benefits at around 20 enterprises every year. No labor strike has been reported at Trade Union affiliations in the city so far.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition, the Trade Union has given guidelines, negotiated and got engaged in signing collective bargaining agreements to assure its members and workers’ legal rights. 43 enterprises have signed collective bargaining agreements, including hundreds of contents beneficial to employees. The Trade Union has directly provided counseling for nearly 1,000 workers on issues related to policies; and settled 4 complaints and appeals to assure workers’ rights.

 

Especially, workers in need, suffering from severe diseases, occupational accidents or diseases have been provided assistance. The city Trade Union has provided VND150 million aid for more than 300 employees; maintained the job creation fund, and offered loan support totaling VND1.4 billion to 180 workers for economic development and income increase.

 

The Trade Union has also signed with Co.opmart Cam Ranh Supermarket and Cam Ranh Post Office to organize 5 - 50% off sales for workers. 500 workers have taken advantage of the discount, saving VND300 million. Besides, Cam Ranh Trade Union has also conducted surveys; financed the repair and construction of dozens of houses for workers in need; and honored 5 enterprises outstanding for good care of employees.

 

Variety of effective emulation campaigns 

 

The city Trade Union launches emulation campaigns and attracts the participation of 100% members every year. The Trade Union at all levels has specified emulation content to be linked with political tasks to suit actual performance, business and production. Therefore, the campaigns have expanded with many excellent groups and individuals honored for their scientific research, application of advanced technologies, promotion of initiatives and technical innovation, contributing to increasing productivity and efficiency in work, business and production.

 

Through the emulation campaign “Excellent labor, Creative labor”, the city Trade Union has received 9 products which have been completed, put into use and thus awarded prizes in the provincial Technical Creation Contest. Besides, more than 1,900 initiatives have been recognized and applied in production and business, saving dozens of billions dong.

 

The “Two-responsibility emulation campaign” has also attracted a large participation of female employees, promoting enthusiasm and creativity at work. The Trade Union has founded and maintained the operation of 9 clubs of employees’ happy families at 12 Trade Union affiliations with more than 200 members. Nearly 1,000 female employees have been honored for excellently fulfilling responsibilities both at work and at home.

 

The campaign to promote cultural, green, clean, beautiful and safe workplaces has been expanded with more than 96% of agencies recognized for meeting required criteria every year. In addition, the Trade Union at all levels has also proposed workplaces’ favorable conditions for Trade Union members and employees to improve their professional knowledge and skills. From 420 to 500 employees are provided professional development training every year, bringing the number of employees at level 3 or above to 59.3%.

 

Cam Ranh Trade Union has always focused on improving activities toward the grassroots and employees to provide solid support for employees, resulting in 81% of Trade Union affiliations in the city recognized for strong and efficient performance every year. The Trade Union has achieved the title “excellent workforce” for many consecutive years. The Trade Union was awarded the third-class Order of Labor by the State President in 2019 and certificates of merit by Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for several consecutive years for great achievements, says Vu Thi Yen, Chairperson of Cam Ranh City Confederation of Labor.
