Many life skill classes have opened in Khanh Hoa in summer, giving children essential life lessons, meeting parents’ demand.

The first life skill class held by Unlimited Potential Organization (UPO) was attended by a lot of children. The program took place for 1 day, providing essential life skills such as taking responsibility; giving and receiving; building life targets; appreciating and being thankful, etc.

Hoang Thi Dung, a parent at Nguyen Hien Junior High School registered for the class for her child about 1 month before summer. She hoped the short-term life skill class would help the child to have friends to play with and have fun during the summer vacation as well as learn to grow into a responsible and respectful person.

“Joining the class, I can learn a lot of essential things in life as well as understand more about my parents’ hardship to take care of us,” says Tran Ngoc Bao Quynh, a student of Nguyen Hien Junior High School, Nha Trang City.

In addition, during this summer, many skills training courses for children are also held such as "confident communication", "self-service and self-defense", “military term", "digital detox", "harmony with nature", "survival skills", "memorizing skills" together with and picnics and hand-on experiences, helping students to widen their knowledge and life skills.

In fact, life skill education for children has received much concern from the society, the education sector and families for many years to help develop confidence, sense of responsibility, resilience and adaptability. Therefore, life skill lessons are integrated into school curricula, meeting the present demand in the society.

Many parents are searching for life skill classes for their children. After the classes, it’s essential to encourage children to continue practicing such skills regularly through real-life experiences and activities at home to help them grow into independent and responsible people, according to Tran Van Anh, Director of Tam Viet Nha Trang Center.

Experienced from several years organizing life skill classes for kids, Nguyen Phuong Doanh, Director of Khanh Hoa Children's House says in life skill classes, children take part in community activities which raise their self-discipline and responsibility. When they are back to their home routines, families should help maintain children's good habits and skills. Parents should set good examples for their children to follow and give them chances to get involved in their own work and develop practical skills.
