Le Huu Hoang, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa People's Committee listened to reports about site clearance for North-South highway project on June 23.
According to the reports, all the site clearance landmarks have been handed over by investors to the locality. All sub-investors have finished selecting measurement consultant contractors. The compensation land cost for affected cases has been approved by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. 181 out of 2,439 cases affected by the project in Dien Khanh, Cam Lam and Cam Ranh are in need of resettlement in 6 resettlement areas in Dien Khanh (1), Cam Lam (3) and Cam Ranh (2). The localities are choosing contractors for the construction of resettlement areas. VND819 billion worth of the site clearance cost for Nha Trang – Cam Lam Highway section has been approved and VND256.7 billion has been disbursed; VND13.5 billion out of VND43 billion for the Cam Lam-Vinh Hao section has been disbursed. However, the site clearance and disbursement for the two projects are still behind schedule.
Le Huu Hoang asked the localities to urgently complete the site clearance, strengthen labour forces to review cases affected by the projects; quickly deploy bidding, select qualified contractors for resettlement areas, shorten construction time; required agencies of technical infrastructures (telecommunications, electricity, water...) to soon complete and submit relocation design dossiers to competent agencies for approval; assigned local departments and localities to soon solve problems related to land prices, compensation cost for architectural objects, vocational training, job change for locals ...; the Department of Transport to double-check, make reports and provide the Provincial People's Committee with consultancy on the intersections of provincial and district roads with the highway.
