Satellite digital television has reached thousands of poor and marginally poor homes in Ninh Hoa Town, contributing to improving locals’ spiritual life. 
 
In the hall of Ninh Xuan Commune People’s Committee, a resident named Tu in Tan Son Village says, “Today, I am happy to get a digital receiver set. Technicians told me the satellite television enables viewers to access hundreds of satellite channels. From now on, I won’t miss my TV programs due to poor signals.”

Another resident named Nguyen Thi Sau, together with her nephew, residing in Tan My Village, happily says, “My television uses rooftop antenna but with poor signal quality. Therefore, I sometimes missed local socio-economic news. I hope the new receiver will help improve the situation.”
 
The project to provide satellite digital television receivers for needy families in the 9 provinces of Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Bac Giang, Phu Tho, Dong Nai, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Khanh Hoa, which are affected by the roadmap to shut down analogue television broadcasting under the scheme on digitization of transmission, terrestrial television broadcasting by 2020 approved by the Ministry of Telecommunications. The analogue television broadcasting shutdown applied for re-broadcasting stations in the 9 provinces was implemented on September 30, 2019.
 
Reportedly, 220 poor and marginally poor households in Ninh Xuan Commune are offered digital satellite TV transceivers by the State. This is a State-supported program which provides satellite TV transceivers free of charge. The commune has checked an eligibility list of poor households to report to the town. Recipients have showed excitement to have access to more broadcasts, according to Nguyen Phu Tai, Vice-Chairman of Ninh Xuan Commune People's Committee. 
 
Vu Anh Tuan, a technical supervisor of Benta Sametel Company, a provider of satellite digital TV receivers, says company technicians help with the installment at recipients’ homes. The installment is expected to finish in Ninh Hoa Town this May. 
 
More than 4,000 poor and marginally poor families are offered satellite digital TV receivers. The Division of Culture & Information will cooperate with communes to closely supervise the delivery to ensure the devices go to the right people and ensure the service quality, according to Nguyen Duy Khanh, a cadre of Ninh Hoa Town Division of Culture & Information.
