The Youth Month 2020 (March) is scheduled to take place with various practical activities adapted to the current situation in Khanh Hoa.
Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union says the 2020 Youth Month is themed “Khanh Hoa Youth’s volunteering and creativity for the national prosperity and civilization" in an effort to educate patriotism and national pride of glorious traditions of the Communist Party and Youth Union to younger generations; develop emulation campaigns with practical activities to mark the Communist Party Congress at all levels towards the 13th National Communist Party Congress and 89th foundation anniversary of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union (March 26, 1931-2020).
Together with propaganda and education activities, Youth Union affiliations will implement various youth work based on actual demands, including lighting rural roads, planting roadside flowers; constructing and repairing playgrounds; developing models to protect the environment; reducing plastic use and waste; protecting water sources; and organizing Green Sunday community activities on March 1.
In addition, urban civilized models namely “lighted, green, clean, beautiful, civilized and safe”, turning littered places into stunning road corners with flowers and paintings. Youth Union affiliations will also organize dialogues between the Party Committee, leaders, the Government and the Youth Union at all levels for Youth Union members and young people to express their thoughts and aspirations.
The Youth Month targets include 100% of the Youth Union at district or equivalent levels taking provincial level youth work, 100% Youth Union affiliations organizing Green Sunday and Volunteer Saturday, each unit striving to plant at least 200 plants, bringing newly-planted plants to 6,000 throughout the province.
Instead of organizing a Youth Month launching ceremony like previously, this year’s event is scheduled to start with Green Sunday environmental activities in schools, public places, clinics; blood donation and free medical examination. Khanh Hoa Youth Union will organize training on procedures to prepare hand sanitizers for Youth Union affiliations under Covid-19 prevention and control guidance provided by health care officials.
Youth Union affiliations have implemented propaganda campaigns to raise public awareness of Covid-19 prevention and control. Khanh Hoa Youth Union has mobilized blood donation, attracting the participation of many Youth Union members. Units of blood collected so far have exceeded the target. During this time, Khanh Hoa Youth Union has also required its affiliations to closely cooperate in the battle against Covid-19; and enhance epidemic prevention hygiene consultancy for locals.
To prepare for the Youth Month, Khanh Hoa Youth Union has requested its affiliations to make plans based on 7 key contents to implement specific activities, urging joint effort in new rural construction and urban civilization. Youth work registered by affiliations in the Youth Month is being handled and arranged. Affiliations are required to make reports every Thursday to Khanh Hoa Youth Union to assure specific and effective cooperation plans.
