Nakri Storm was at 12.6 °N and 114.9 °E, 160km north-northeast from the Southwest Cay, Spratly Islands with wind speeds of 100-135kph and the gust expected at level 11-12 in the storm eye at 4a.m on November 9.
In the next 12 hours, the storm will move west at 10kph and likely to get stronger. At 4a.m on November 10, the storm eye will be at 12.8 °N and 112.1°E, 290km off the coast of Quang Ngai - Khanh Hoa with wind speeds of 115-135 kph and gust force expected at level 12.
In the next 12 - 24 hours, the storm will head west west-north at 10kph to the coast of central provinces with the gust at level 9-10; and then weaken into a tropical depression. At 4am on November 11, the depression will be at 13.4 °N and 108.7°E on the Central Highlands with the gust expected at level 7 (50-60kph).
Showers are expected off the coast of Khanh Hoa and in southern Spratly Islands with the gust at level 5-6 and up to level 8-9 and level 10-11 near the storm eye; an extremely rough sea and high waves reaching 6-7m. The waters in the middle of the East Sea, including northern Spratly Islands will experience the gust at level 7-9 and extremely rough sea with waves reaching 7-8m.
Heavy rain warning has been issued during the storm landfall. Downpours are expected across Khanh Hoa from the night of November 9 to November 12 with a rainfall of 100-200mm, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
