Pacific Partnership 2017 (PP17) began its mission in Khanh Hoa Province on May 20 with the arrival of expeditionary fast transport ship U.S.N.S. Fall River (U.S.A), JS Izumo and JS Sazanami (Japan) at Cam Ranh Port.

The program is scheduled  to take place on May 20-29 with such activities as a humanitarian assistance/disaster relief (HADR) workshop, rescue training for Nha Trang Beach life-guard; Son Ca Nursery School and Hoa Mi Nursery School repairs; and solar water heater installment at Khanh Hoa Social Service Center. The musical band of the U.S fleet 7 will have musical exchange programs with Phan Chu Trinh Junior High School at Yen Sao Park and Nha Trang Youth Park on Nha Trang Beach.
 
The Pacific Partnership (PP) has been held for 11 years and this is the 8th time PP has taken place in Vietnam. Such partner countries as Australia, Japan and England are joining the PP in Khanh Hoa.
 
The Pacific Partnership initiated in 2004 by the U.S.A is an annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.
 
PP17 has promoted the cooperation in medical readiness and preparedness for disasters, contributing to strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and the U.S.A as well as the friendly cooperation relationships with other countries and organizations joining the PP.
