The 2014 three-month summer program has attracted the participation of many young people and students with practical activities.

Themed “The youth join in new rural construction and urban civilization”, much community work was done such as bridge construction; water filter system installment for Van Ninh students; Caulerpa lentillifera breeder support and technical transfer, etc. "Rural lighting" covered over 46km of roads at the cost of over VND1.5 billion.

In addition, “Green Sunday”, “Voluntary Saturday”, environmental protection days, etc were held together with gifts and scholarships offered to the disadvantaged.

Le Cong Lap, Secretary of Nha Trang University Youth Union says, “Over 50 volunteers from Nha Trang University joined this volunteer vocation in Van Thanh, Van Ninh District. Their work was highly appreciated such as bridge construction, gift presentation and shrimp farming training for local residents.”

20 courses on aquaculture, disease prevention, technical transfer, youth’s skills, dengue and HIV/AIDS control were held.

Moreover, volunteer work included free summer revision classes for children, medical check-ups, tree cultivation, blood donation, rubbish collection and disposal, leaving good impression on residents in disadvantaged and remote areas.

500 gifts and scholarships worth VND700 million in total were awarded to the poor, orphan and disabled children.

Furthermore, the 2014 “entrance exam season invigoration” program was maintained, providing counseling and support for candidates.  Khanh Hoa Students’ Association in cooperation with the provincial Buddhist Church arranged and offered free accommodation for 1,000 students, 1,000 free meals and transportation to and from exam locations. Universities and colleges in Khanh Hoa Province also provided free accommodation for 30,000 needy candidates in dormitories.

30 youth constructions worth VND900 million were completed this summer, helping to promote young people to undertake their socio-economic responsibilities, according to Vo Hoan Hai, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Communist Youth Union.
