Vice Chairperson of Hanoi City People’s Committee Ngo Thi Thanh Hang gave approval on April 7 to a game show project to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. The project is expected to cost nearly 40 billion VND.

Earlier, the content of the game show had been assessed by the Department of Propaganda & Training of Hanoi City Party Committee. The game show “Hanoi, 36 streets” will be broadcast on the Vietnam Television (VTV). The show will be shot outdoors at historical and cultural sites of Hanoi. The game show will have 53 weekly games, starting in October 2009. The final game and the awards ceremony will be broadcast live in October 2010.

The game show is designed to offer a playground on television to introduce the image and history of Hanoi to the Vietnamese living in or outside the country and foreigners.

The project is carried out by the National Steering Board for the 1,000th Anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, the Vietnam Advertising Association and the Hanoi Media JS Company.
