Scientists of the Military Academy has done a research and succeeded in production of Ngoc Linh ginseng. This result is released by the protocol with Korea on production of Ngoc Linh ginseng to serve community health.
Scientists of the Military Academy have applied the techniques of tissue and volume of materials in creating Ngoc Linh, a rare ginseng in the world.
Ngoc Linh ginseng or Panax Vietnamensis is included in the Vietnamese Red book as one of 250 rare, threatened or endangered species. Its pharmacological effects have been described as general stimulation in case of physical, mental and sexual asthenia, enhancement of physical strength and immunity, reduction of fatigue, vertigo and syncope. It also has been found to be a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-platelet, antibacterial and antifungal.
With the root extract cells, scientists of the Military Academy can produce Ngoc Linh ginseng in a large quantity within 10-20 days. The cultivated ginseng has the similar quality to the natural one.
