Heartwarming "Trade Union Meals"

In response to Workers’ Month 2026, trade unions across Khanh Hoa Province have carried out initiatives to support and care for members and workers. Among these, the “Trade Union Meal” program has been organized, offering nutritious meals while fostering stronger bonds between employers and trade unions and businesses.

Sharing at the table

At 11 a.m. one day in mid-May, more than 250 workers at the Sanvinest Khanh Hoa Salanganes’ Nest Processing Plant (Song Cau Industrial Cluster, Khanh Vinh Commune), a subsidiary of Khanh Hoa Salanganes’ Nest State-owned Company Limited, gathered for a lunch. That day's meal was more special than usual, with carefully prepared dishes such as braised pork with eggs, stir-fried beef, boiled vegetables with dipping sauce, and vegetable soup with minced meat. After the meal, each worker also received a can of bird's nest drink.

The “Union Meal” is meaningful not only for its quality but also for the spirit of sharing. During mealtime, company leaders and union officials visit each table to encourage and chat with workers. Le Thi Ha, a factory employee, remarked, “Our daily meals are already sufficient, but today’s was even more abundant. We are grateful to the union for accompanying the company in caring for workers’ lives.”

The same warmth was felt at Sanest Khanh Hoa Beverage Joint Stock Company (Nam Cam Ranh Commune), where more than 200 workers gathered. Worker Trung Thi Thuy Hong remarked that what touched her most was not just the delicious food, but the care shown when leaders also joined the mealtime and chatted with workers. Such gestures made employees feel valued and gained greater motivation to stay with the company in the long run.

At T.D Joint Stock Company (Nha Trang Ward), over 500 union members and employees enjoyed a diverse menu worth VND 60,000 per person. Leaders personally thanked employees for their contributions, while cultural and artistic activities added joy to the gathering. Human Resources Director Nguyen Thi Thanh Trang emphasized, “Employees are the company’s most valuable asset. When their lives are stable and spirits happy, they feel secure in their work and remain committed long term.”

Strengthening the bond between businesses and employees

Tran Thi Huong, Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial Labor Union, stated that during the 2026 Workers' Month, the "Trade Union Meal" program, organized by trade unions at all levels in coordination with businesses, has become a meaningful activity, spreading care and sharing towards members and workers. Beyond improving meal quality, the program fosters a warm, cohesive atmosphere between companies and employees.

At many workplaces, business leaders join workers at the table, turning mealtime into moments of genuine sharing and empathy. This year’s program also emphasizes occupational safety and hygiene, with unions integrating guidance on health protection and safe production practices. Alongside meals, several businesses organized health check-ups, nutritional counseling, and gift-giving for disadvantaged employees, further strengthening solidarity in the workplace.

These activities reflect companies’ genuine concern for employees’ health, a key factor in boosting productivity and ensuring sustainable development. When workers feel cared for and respected, they become more committed and responsible.
