Site clearance accelerated for Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project

Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project managed by the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town has a length of 31.5km, of which the first 20km must be completed by the end of 2025 as required by the Prime Minister. The Management Board of the Provincial Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Project and the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa Town have made efforts to mobilize site handover to speed up construction progress.

The contractor has completed leveling the endpoint of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project (Component 1).

Site clearance basically completed

The Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project affects an area of 228.17 ha. Ninh Hoa Town Land Fund Development Center has approved 1,033 cases (100%) or ​​228 ha. The construction process in Ninh Hoa Town is progressing, with 99.8% of the planned 31.5 kilometers already handed over.

Regarding the relocation of technical infrastructure systems, the Project Management Board has relocated 28/30 medium and low voltage lines, water supply and drainage systems, lighting and telecommunications systems. The relocation is expected to be completed in May 2025.

For the 220kV line, the Project Management Board, the Ninh Hoa Town Land Fund Development Center and the contractor have mobilized households to hand over the site in advance for the construction of 12/12 poles expected to be completed in July 2025. The relocation of the North-South railway signal line is underway and expected to be completed in early June 2025.

Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project spanning 117.5km kilometers with an investment of over VND21,935 billion consists of 3 component projects, including component project 1 (31.5km) implemented by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and expected to be completed in early 2027. The route has 4 lanes, designed speed of 100km/h; starting from the intersection between National Highway 26B and National Highway 1, in the Nam Van Phong port area (Ninh Hoa Town) to the endpoint at Km32+000 in Ninh Tay Commune (Ninh Hoa).

For the Ha Thanh Resettlement Area Project, up to now, the Ninh Hoa Town Land Fund Development Center has handed over to the Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee 197/200 resettlement plots, more than 7.1 ha (reaching 98.9%), ensuring sufficient resettlement for the entire project. Only one case remains unresolved, and the Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee is proceeding with enforcement measures.

Truong Son Construction Corporation Construction is building Cua Dong Bridge abutments and bored piles.

Progress accelerated

Reportedly, the construction package No. 1 (22km at the beginning of the route) by Son Hai Group Company Limited as the contractor has constructed 21.95km of roadbed and drainage, completed 12/12 bridges, paved 5.3km of asphalt concrete, reaching 58.68% of the contract value.

The construction package No. 2 (9.5km at the end of the route) by the joint venture of Phuong Nam Company, Bac Trung Nam Company and Dong Duong Construction Company as the contractor has constructed 9.1km of roadbed and drainage, completed 6/6 bridges, reaching 32.45% of the contract value.

Construction Package No. 3 (construction of Km30 Bridge and Cua Dong Bridge) with Truong Son Construction Corporation as the contractor, is currently constructing bridge abutments and bored piles, reaching 12.97% of the contract value. In 2025, the project was assigned VND1,375 billion, but due to slow site clearance, so far only VND212 billion has been disbursed, reaching 15.42%.

According to Pham Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Transport Works, in order to complete the first 20km of the route by the end of 2025 according to the schedule set by the Prime Minister, this week, Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee will proceed with enforcement for 3 cases for the construction to ensure timely progress on the project.

Regarding the relocation of the power infrastructure, the Project Management Board recommends that the Provincial People's Committee direct the Ninh Hoa Town People's Committee to speed up the approval of compensation for the relocation of 220kV, 110kV and 35kV power lines, ensuring timely payments to affected households. Once the site becomes available, the Project Management Board will direct the contractor to speed up the progress to meet the schedule.
