Ninh Hoa District boasts nem nuong, Vietnamese grilled pork patty, a delicious specialty that tourists should not miss when coming to Khanh Hoa Province. It is also a popular dish in Nha Trang City and the flavor of the dish, nonetheless, is retained by the cook.
“Nem chua,” or fermented pork roll is made from pork’s thigh meat. To make fermented pork rolls, the meat must be ground and husked then mixed with garlic, pepper, sliced pork skin and spices. Then it is wrapped in a special kind of cherry leaf to make it fermented. Nem nuong Ninh Hoa, grilled pork patty is served with griddlecakes and many kinds of fresh vegetables. The sauce of Nem Ninh Hoa is also carefully made, as it is a crucial ingredient to add to the taste of the dish. Each restaurant has its own recipe of the sauce.
There are around 20 restaurants offering this special dish in many main streets in Nha Trang City such as Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Loi, and Hoang Van Thu streets, etc...Among them, Dang Van Quyen and Ngoc Tien restaurants are the most crowded.
