Ponagar Temple Festival 2022 opened with the opening ceremony held at Ponagar Temple (Nha Trang City) on April 21 morning. Present at the ceremony were Dinh Van Thieu - Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; Ho Van Mung - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nha Trang City Party Committee; and Nguyen Khac Ha - Head of the Organizing Committee of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee. The representatives offered incense to commemorate the merits of Thien Y A Na Holy Mother.
The 2022 edition of the festival takes place from April 20 to 23 (lunar April 20 to 23). Nearly 100 groups of 2,500 pilgrims in and outside Khanh Hoa are expected to take part in the festival. Besides, during the festival, the temple receives around 1,500 tourists and 20,000 local people each day.
The festival couldn’t take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
