The opening ceremony of the tournament was attended by leaders of Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Viet Football Joint Stock Company (Vietfootball), Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Hoang Anh Tuan – former coach of Vietnam U-20 football team, and some former national football players.

KPL-S1 is joined by eight teams divided into two groups; two best teams of each group will enter the semi-finals and final. KPL-S1 is played at the mini football pitch of Nha Trang University in the afternoon of Saturdays from November 2 to 31. The winner of KPL-S1 will qualify for the national final round held in Hanoi in December.
