As usual, the winter-spring rice fields in Van Ninh District is still the place harvested earliest in the province. Rice grown in some communes such as Van Long, Van Binh ... still leads in productivity as many areas reach 90 quintals/hectare. A farmer named Nguyen Du (in Van Phu Commune) excitedly said that this year, thanks to favorable weather, the rice yield was very high. With 8 acres, the estimated productivity of nearly 90 quintals/hectare, tens of quintals/hectare higher than the previous year.
 
Along with good productivity, the purchase price of rice this year also increased about VND500/kg compared to that in the previous year. Fresh rice sold in the field is from VND5,500 to VND6,000/ kg, earning more than VND20 million/hectare for growers. According to Nguyen Ngoc Y - Head of Economic Division of Van Ninh District, this district sew rice seeding over 3,500 hectares. Up to April 2, farmers have harvested nearly 1,700 hectares, with the average yield of 67 quintals/hectare, 5 quintals/hectare higher than the previous year.

The joy of the harvest also is shown in the rice fields in Ninh Hoa Town. Although the winter-spring crop here has experienced a lot of hardships, especially the regular shortage of water due to drought, it still has higher productivity and quality than the previous year. 8,700 hectares were sown in Ninh Hoa, accounting for nearly half of the province's rice area. The average yield is estimated at 65 quintals/hectare. The price of rice is high. The buying fresh rice in the field has also become popular.
 
Dien Khanh is the district that is being assessed to lead the province in the form of farming organization as most of the rice grain is produced under the same process and under the contract of product consumption. According to Vo Hung - Director of Dien Hoa Farming Cooperative, in this winter-spring crop, the cooperative had 240ha of rice, of which 140ha produces rice varieties on orders, 90% of the area was sowed with ML202 rice variety. Up to now, the harvest has been done. The yield reached 72 quintals/hectare, an increase of 5 quintals/hectare over the previous year. With the selling price of more than 6,000 VND/kg at present, farmers gain VND22-24 million from every hectare of rice, and they earn VND27 - 29 million from every hectare of rice seeds.
