Phan Van The, manager of Fahasa Nha Trang Bookstore revealed that the bookstore has prepared a number of school books for the new school year, 30% more than that last year. Purchase has risen by 10% - 20% year-on-year. The bookstore also has prepared 20,000 notebooks. Thanks to the preparation from last year, prices of notebooks in  Fahasa are kept stable despite the sharp increase in paper price.
 
Representative of Khanh Hoa Book Distribution Joint Stock Company also said that purchase of books, notebooks and school things has risen by 10% year-on-year. The company has also prepared products with 20% increase over last year. Prices of books, notebooks and school things have made 5% - 10% rise due to the increases in prices of paper and plastic.
 
Most of the bookstores have promotions for products of new school year like 10% discount on schoolbooks, 15% discount on reference books, 10% - 30% on stationery, free wrapping, etc.

At this time, shops, supermarkets and markets are selling a lot of uniforms for pupils to serve demand of the new school year. Buying uniforms for her daughter, Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, living in Phuoc Long Ward, Nha Trang City, said, “This year, there are a lot of designs for pupil uniform, I’ve bought three sets for my daughter on the new school year.”
 
A shop seller in Ngo Gia Tu Street, Nha Trang revealed that uniform purchase this year sees an increase. Many families buy 3 – 4 sets for their child. Depending on material and size, uniform price ranges from VND120,000 to VND200,000/set. Uniform price at markets is VND30,000 – VND40,000 lower than that in shops and supermarkets.
 
Few people buy material and go to tailors for pupil uniforms. A mother, named Luu Hong Phuong living in Van Thanh Ward, Nha Trang, said that she used to have uniforms sewed but she has chosen ready-made uniforms for her child because they are cheaper. 
 
On the occasion of the new school year, supermarkets are offering discounts up to 30% on uniform, footwear and school things.
