Diversifying products made of agarwood

5 products from agarwood in Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province have been recognized as typical rural industrial products by the provincial People’s Committee.
 
 
Those are three products (including fans, bracelets and incense) by Tam Linh Khanh Hoa Company Limited (located in Tan Dan 2 Hamlet, Van Thang Commune) and two products (incense and essential oil) by business household of Tran Anh Hung (living in Phu Hoi 1 Hamlet, Van Thang Commune).
 
 
Nguyen Thi Thanh, director of Tam Linh Khanh Hoa Company Limited, said, “While purchasing materials for agarwood products, I’ve found that agarwood in trees is not similar. Then, I thought about creating correlative products like fans, bracelets, Buddha statues, etc. Our company has invested in some machines. We are creating jobs for about 20 laborers with an income of VND3 – 4 million/month.”

Business household of Tran Anh Hung has also created good-quality agarwood products. His product of incense with the shape of lotus bub has special and spiritual. This business household produces 300 kilograms of lotus bub-shaped agarwood incense and 6 liters of agarwood attar a year.
According to Truong Van Ninh, head of Tan Dan 2, Van Thang Commune, the agarwood village has created more jobs for locals. This hamlet has nearly 100 households digging agarwood.
 
 
Van Ninh District has agarwood trade village, which is one of four recognized trade village in Khanh Hoa Province, mainly in some hamlets like Phu Hoi 1, Quang Hoi 1, Tan Dan, etc. in Van Thang Commune. The trade village has drawn nearly 300 households with VND3 - 5 million/person/month. Many individuals and organizes have invested in machines, equipment to technologies to manufacture products of agarwood. Some of them have been recognized as typical rural industrial products. 
 
 
According to Hoang Dinh Hau, deputy manager of Van Ninh Ecomonic Department, the provincial People’s Committee has decided to support VND2.7 billion for the trade village to build up a showroom and a welcome gate of the trade village in Phu Hoi 1 Hamlet, Van Thang Commune as well as do marketing, support machines and train workers for lotus bub incense production. This proves that the State attends to the agarwood trade village to promote its development.
