When the living conditions have been improved and the hustle and bustle of a modern life urges people to avoid stress, zentourism is indispensable.
Zen tourism, a favourite with many countries in the world, is finding its way in Vietnam now. In Ho Chi Minh City, some travel firms frequently provide tourists with visits to beautiful and quiet places, enjoying relaxation and making their mind calm through meditation. In Nha Trang, there are two Zen-Yoga tours organized by Anh Anh Tourist Co., Ltd., including 2 day/3 night one for tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and another lasting 3 days/4nights for those from Da Nang and Hanoi.
Pham Ba Thanh, director of Anh Anh Tourist Co., Ltd. reveals, “Khanh Hoa has a lot of ideal spots for Zen tourism. We often choose Hon Ba, Suoi Do, Hoa Lan Stream Tourist Area, Ba Ho and Van Phong Bay as destinations for this kind of tourism because their naturalness, quietness and fresh air are very appropriate for practicing Zen and Yoga. During a Zen tour, you will escape from pressure of daily life and work, living with nature and learning the right way to relax and breathe. Especially, you will be instructed by Dada Udvelanada, a yoga and meditation expert who has been involved with yoga for about 25 years. Our two Zen tours are attracting a large number of tourists”.
Researches show that when practicing meditation, your heart rate and breathing slow down, your blood pressure normalizes, you use oxygen more efficiently, and you sweat less. Also, your adrenal glands produce less cortisol, your mind ages at a slower rate, and your immune function improves. Your mind also clears and your creativity increases. People who meditate regularly find it easier to give up life-damaging habits like smoking, drinking and drugs.
Indeed, a Zen tour only lasts some days but it’s always a very precious time to every one who make it. Tran Thien Phuoc, a businessman from Ho Chi Minh City confided, “My work usually causes me worried, stressed and sleepless. Practicing meditation on a green lawn, listening to the sounds of bird singing, stream babbling and my own breath in the quietness of a Zen tour helps to ease all my problems. It’s a very wonderful feeling”.
Additionally, Zen tours take tourists to beauty spots as well as historical monuments of Khanh Hoa Province, teach them secrets and benefits of meditation and have many other interesting activities.
In general, Zen tourism has become a new kind of entertainment in Khanh Hoa and diversifies the province’s tourism.
