Locally made Ba Vi milk produced by International Dairy Production Company (IDP) has added to the variety of milk market in Vietnam.
Ba Vi has been known the main milk supplier for dairy companies in Ha Tay Province with many cow farms. Recently, the district has worked with the International Dairy Production Company (IDP) to build the trademark of Ba Vi Milk to enhance the reputation of the local product. Anco Netsle and International Dairy Production Company have recently purchased 5-6 tons of milk and processed such lines of products as yogurt, sterilized milk and fresh milk with flavors of orange, chocolate and so on to meet costumers’ demand. The International Dairy Production Company has signed a cooperation agreement on development of milk cows and building of the trademark of Ba Vi Milk with high quality products.
From 2000 to 2006, the number of cows in Vietnam increased significantly, by 22%/ year. It is expected to reach 200,000 cows in Vietnam by 2010 with a productivity of 3,700 tons of fresh milk. Main milk cow farming areas include Moc Chau, Ba Vi, Lam Dong and the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
