Along with the high increase in demand for building in the dry season, prices of building materials have been put up sharply.
° Does steel price hit record?
Þ6 steel and Þ8 steel have jumped to 10,300 VND/kg from 9,200–9,500 VND/kg last month. Similarly, steel iron rolls and bars have increased in price. Specifically, 1.7 long Þ10 steel of Vietnam – Italy Company and Southern Steel Company costs 72,800 VND/bar and 73,000 VND/bar, respectively; Þ12: 103,000 VND/bar and 103,800 VND/bar; Þ14: 140,000 VND/bar and 142,000 VND/bar; Þ16: 183,000 VND/bar and 185,600 VND/bar. Also, there has been a slight increase in prices of some other accompanied materials such as zinc and nail.
° Brick also rises in price
In addition, the cost of brick has gone up again. Specifically, conventional type of bricks has raise by 20 VND/brick to 350 – 360 VND/brick over last month. Tuynen high quality brick has jumped to 470 VND/brick, but it’s difficult to buy because of the excess of demand over supply.
° Other material stabler
Unlike steel and brick, prices of types of cement are rather stable. For example, PC30 Hoàng Thạch cement costs 888,000 VND/ton, Hoang Mai: 861,000/ton, But Son: 866,000/ton and PC40: 928,000 VND – 960,000 VND/ton.
